Abstract

|
Esthetics is one of the enormously important considerations when anterior edentulous area is reconstructed Osseointegration between implant and alveolar bone is not the only goal any more, harmony with adjacent hard and
soft tissue is the extended objective in case of restoring teeth using implant. However, there are several existing
difficulties in restoring anterior region; unnatural emergence profile, discoloration due to grayish color of titanium
abutment and fixture. To overcome these difficulties, zirconia abutment is used. Since zirconia has high fracture resistance, similar shade of color to tooth and hard tissue and possibility to be stained, it is emerged as a new method to cope with the problems of titanium abutment. This article describes the treatment of patients with missing of anterior teeth. After osseointegration period, it was decided to restore the teeth with an all ceramic prosthesis which was cemented on a CAD/CAM fabricated zirconia abutment.
